How HouseRun Works — A Simple Guide for First-Time Seekers
You tell us what you want. We send a local agent to find it. You only show up once.

The old way is broken
Finding a place to rent in Lagos used to mean spending every Saturday driving around neighbourhoods, calling numbers on faded posters, and negotiating with caretakers who claim the landlord is "not around." Most people spend 4–6 weeks on this — unpaid time, fuel, and pure stress.
HouseRun flips that completely.
Here's how it works
Step 1 — Tell us what you want
You fill in a brief: the area you want, your budget, property type, and any must-haves (generator, parking, boys' quarters). Takes about 5 minutes.
Step 2 — A local agent takes over
A verified HouseRun agent who actually lives or works in your target area picks up your brief. They physically visit places, take photos and videos, and send you real options — no recycled listings, no bait-and-switch.
Step 3 — You pick one place to inspect
Review what the agent sends you, pick the one that looks right, and book a single inspection. That's your only trip.
Step 4 — Inspect, agree, done
You go once. If you're interested, agree the rent directly with the landlord. HouseRun doesn't take a cut of your rent — we're done the moment you say yes.
What does it cost?
There's a small upfront fee split into three parts: a platform fee (keeps HouseRun running), a search transport fee (covers the agent's legwork), and an agent service fee. Everything is itemised before you pay. No surprises.
If no agent claims your brief within 7 days, the transport and service fees are refunded automatically. The platform fee is non-refundable — you used the platform.
Who are the agents?
Independent property scouts who know their areas cold. They're verified by HouseRun before they can claim any brief. Their ratings are public — you can see how other seekers rated them.
